On the heals of the latest concerns over the safety of the diabetic drug Avandia, I thought today might be a good time to talk about blood sugar, appetite control and weight loss. Specifically, today we’ll discuss a patented blend of fiber called PGX that has been clinically shown to reduce blood sugar and insulin secretion, while controlling appetite and promoting effective weight loss – all without any serious side effects.

So what is PGX???
PGX is a patented blend of three fibers – glucomannan (from Konjac root), sodium alginate, and xanthan gum. What makes this product so beneficial is it’s viscosity. That is, it’s gel-forming ability. It’s roughly seven-times more viscous than psyllium husk.
Clinically, this blend has been shown to slow down the processing of carbohydrates, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce serum cholesterol and more.
While ‘fiber’ may not sound like an exciting find, PGX is a really great safe tool for blood sugar control.
I am such a big fan of this product and have had several clients use it successfully for appetite and blood sugar control. Great podcast!
