Last week I hosted a seminar, “Managing Inflammation to Support Bone, Joint & Heart Health” presented by Brian Hall of New Chapter Vitamins.
As the title implies, this seminar focused on the role inflammation plays in disease with a special emphasis on cardiovascular, bone and joint health and perhaps most importantly, what you can do about it.
Some of the topics include a review of the researched roles of the following: ginger, turmeric, green tea, holy basil, vitamin K2, vitamin D3 and omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil.
While many were able to attend, many others were not. So I decided to record the seminar and include it as this week’s podcast.

At the end of the podcast I referred to Zyflamend, the most clinically studied natural anti-inflammatory available. Here’s a link to some of the research I mentioned – Zyflamend on Google Scholar or you can also simply search Zyflamend on Pubmed.gov.
My Doctor specified D3 (with Bone/Heart/Joint Health). We found the brand “Member Mark” at Sam’s Club and they only had 2000 IU. They were Red jell caps. Are the 1000 IU caps available? When I took these my Head felt heavy and very bad! I have similar when I take Iron as well.
Sincerely,
Nell Starks
Hi Nell. Sure! There are many good 1,000IU D3 products available. I don’t know much about the Member Mark brand, but one thing that is curious is why the D3 would be red? It’s possible that you are sensitive to something besides the D3. What did they use to color the softgel? Are there any other “other ingredients” that seem unnecessary?
At Vital Choice Healthstore, we offer D3 in IUs of 400,1000,2000 and higher.
My favorite product is MegaFood’s D3 because it’s wholefood. Think of it as a food rich in D3 as opposed to an isolated nutrient. I feel whole food vitamins offer the best possible utilization. However, you do pay a higher price for wholefood. As traditional supplements go, our Vital Choice Healthstore D3 is great and I’ve sent more than a few bottles to my family who have opted for traditional over wholefood.
