Are you trying to lose weight? We’re often told losing weight is a simple equation – burn more calories than you consume. While technically I suppose this is true, I think most would agree it’s not quite that simple.
One difficulty is trying to determine how many calories you burn. After all, it’s nice that the treadmill estimates me how many calories I’ve burned while running, but how accurate is that and what about the rest of the day? What about those days when I don’t exercise at the gym, but I’m doing errands…or just taking a day off and relaxing? Truly knowing your metabolic rate is critical to reaching your goals and can help take the guesswork out of weight loss. But unfortunately this number has been next to impossible to determine.
