Continuing on with our focus on the liver and detoxification from last week’s podcast, today we’re going to talk about a unique mushroom ability to both detoxify and enhance liver function.
A relatively rare form of the reishi mushroom called Reishi Antler, when prepared as an extract, has been shown to act on immune system cells, to work against herpes virus, to lower cholesterol and stop cell proliferation.
In addition to detoxification, studies have also shown to enhance the liver’s production of powerful antioxidants glutathione and SOD (superoxide dismutase).
