Study after study tells us the importance of eating fruits and vegetables not just for the vitamins and minerals, but for the countless photochemicals they contain. I don’t think this is big news to anybody.
However, eating the recommended 5-13 (yep, I recently heard 13 servings!!) per day can be difficult. First, it’s tough for many people to shop and prepare that many fruits and veggies. Secondly, depending on where you live and the time of year, just finding decent quality produce can be quite a task.
