…already in the normal range
Have you ever read the packaging of a dietary supplement and seen something like, ‘May support healthy cholesterol levels already in the normal range‘? Seems a little odd doesn’t it? I mean, if your cholesterol scores were already in the normal range why would you be walking the aisle trying to find a cholesterol product?
I’ve had countless frustrated customers ask me this very question. So today, I want to try and clear up the confusion. The above statement is called a Structure Function Claim and is governed by a very strict guideline that says (essentially) no product may bear a statement that claims to diagnose, mitigate, treat, cure, or prevent disease both explicitly and implicitly.
Seems to make sense until you consider the FDA considers terms like “pain” and “anti-inflammatory” to be disease states. To learn more, I invite you to listen in on this podcast.
