Have you heard of the calcium paradox? It seems few have. Basically, the scientific community is finding that calcium supplementation may be a double-edged sword.
One one hand, it’s an important component of any good bone-building regimen, yet on the other hand, according to a study in the British Medical Journal, calcium supplementation may also be leading to the development of vascular disease. Essentially, calcium may not be getting to the bones where we want it, but rather accumulating in vessel walls, impeding blood flow and leading to heart attack and stroke.
